Juan Martinez

Juan believes architecture has a unique way of influencing the way we experience the built environment. Architecture should be an experience that evokes consistency with nature. We should strive for architecture that sustains the environment and inspires all to improve the world we live in.

Juan graduated with his Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2020 and completed two certifications: Historic Preservation, and High-Performance Design and Sustainability. While a student at UTSA he completed two Unique-Experience semesters in Barcelona, Spain, and in Galveston, TX, where he gained hands-on experience of how architectural firms conduct business.

After graduating he interned at Constructores del Sur in Palencia, Spain, where he gained field experience in construction management. He joined Studio Plearn in June 2022 and started the Architectural Experience Program path to become a licensed architect.

Juan continues to serve his country as a U.S. Army Reservist. He is currently serving as a first sergeant. Throughout his military career he has lived in South Korea, Germany, Spain, Egypt, Macedonia, Kuwait, and Iraq where he adapted to the local culture. His broad worldview fuels his interest and lends expression to his work ethic in architecture design.
